Anna Bailey |
Life is full for Anna, and that is how she functions best. She is a multi-tasker and enjoys juggling life, although she has learned that too much can really be too much.
Anna must attach meaning to all the tasks in her busy life. It is what fuels her and gives her purpose. Awaking with bright eyes and a vibrant spirit--no wait, who are we kidding? Her husband Nathanael has a hard time pulling her out of bed. Anyways, in those early morning hours she prepares her four kids for school and sends them out the door. As silence invades the house again, she stokes the wood stove and the fire within her heart by spending time worshiping, praying, and hearing from her God. Without this time, she is at a loss. The rest of days are full of many other tasks, but she cannot function well if she hasn't spent time with her Father. In her junior year of college, Anna surveyed the incoming group of freshmen men, and she set her sights upon Nathanael Bailey. |
They were married a month after Anna’s graduation and starting having a family within a few years. They have three biological boys, Isaac, Lincoln, and Samuel, and one adopted daughter, Amilia.
There is always something to do in a busy household of six. Domestic duties usually take second fiddle to her songwriting and domestic creativity. Over the years she has learned that her family is happier if she is fueled by her God and the creativity He has given her, and not if the toilet has been scrubbed that day. Anna’s favorite family times are game nights, family suppers, and camping trips! Anna began her worship-leading days back in college and has been involved in worship ministry ever since. Her love for God and worship has grown throughout the years, and she is so very thankful to be fueled by her ministry. Planning big, for a very big God, Anna is excited about the future of worship at Anchor Point Community Church. |
Scott and Sara Clifton |
Scott was born in Ellsworth, WI, a city famous for cheese curds! He moved to Duluth to attend UMD and major in engineering. During his first year in Duluth, Scott began attending Anchor Point. He spent the following three summers as a camp counselor at Inspiration Point Bible Camp. Scott also began volunteering with the worship team for the Harbor (Anchor Point's youth group). His role within the youth group has changed over time, and now he is the youth director.
Sara was born in Brainerd, MN. She also moved to Duluth to attend college. She began attending Anchor Point during her freshman year. During the following summer she spent a life-changing three months in Juneau, Alaska as a camp counselor. When she came back, she also started volunteering as a youth leader at Anchor Point. (See where this is going?) Scott and Sara met at UMD, but their friendship developed while working with the Harbor. They didn't consider dating each other for quite some time, but once they started to date, things moved quickly and within a year they were married! |
When they are not hanging out with teenagers, Scott and Sara love to be outside hiking and adventuring. They love the Duluth area and discovering new hiking spots around the city. They also both love coffee, meeting people, changes, and sleeping.
"When we were first dating," Scott says, "we were amazed at how much we had in common. We both love the outdoors, being active, simplicity, etc. Since being married, we've realized that even in our similarities we can be different. My idea of a hike outdoors is backpacking for a week, Sara’s idea involves two days at a campsite with a shower and afternoon hikes that begin and end back at the car. I am competitive and Sara is not at all--with the exception of football. I am from Wisconsin and obviously am a Packers fan (not that it takes much convincing to cheer for a team of their greatness), Sara on the other hand is originally from Brainerd and is a Vikings fan. Through these differences, God is teaching us how to love people from their perspective and not our own." |

I grew up on a South Dakota farm, the third of four children. I went to a one-room country school until 4th grade, right off of Little House on the Prairie. I graduated in 1982 from South Dakota State University with degrees in Agronomy and Soil Science. While at college, I met the love of my life, Keith. We married, and God blessed us with great kids: Maggie & Mike, Benjamin & Megan, Al & Samantha, and Valerie. Some of these have married into our family--and now we can't imagine how we managed before God brought them into our lives! Most recently I am feeling blessed by becoming a grandparent, am pretty sure that it will consume me, and I'm okay with that.
Keith and I moved to Duluth in 1985. I was able to be a stay-at-home mom for 15 years, I worked at Life 97.3 for a decade, and I joined Anchor Point's staff in 2010. I've been Sunday School superintendent at my church and co-founder and committee member of the Father Daughter Ball. Currently, I'm on the board at the YFC Encounter. |
I love to be with my family, so, highlights for me include camping, going back home to South Dakota--really, any family trips together--making memories. I love going for walks with my hubby or a friend, and always with my dog Huck. I'm a hopeless dog-lover. I like to cook, and I love to eat. I love starting the fireplace (almost year-round), fixing a cup of tea and curling up with my Bible for "me" time with God. I can go for many days without turning on the TV if I'm the only one home--although I do like travel and cooking shows. I love music and worship. I'm not a musician, but I wish I were!
I also love people. I love meeting them, getting to know them, watching them grow in God--so, if I haven't met you yet, come by the office sometime soon and introduce yourself! |
