prayer Ministry

Maybe you need prayer. Maybe you know someone who needs prayer. Maybe you are totally jazzed about what God does through prayer. Maybe you love to pray and would like to join others in praying for our area. Maybe you feel alone. Or maybe you wonder why we even bother to pray at all! Let us help. Anchor Point's prayer
team is a group of people God has put together with varying spiritual gifts who are called to encourage everyone to be in continual communication with God. As we encourage, we also bring all cares, concerns, praises, and joy to God on behalf of our brothers and sisters in Christ. As the church prays together we grow in the knowledge of the Lord.

Ways to serve:  Pray for small groups, ministries, leaders, and weekend services.

Interested in joining us?

We're glad! Prayer is a high priority at Anchor Point. Every step we take individually and as a church should be covered with prayer-–a big job! We need you to help prepare the way in prayer, as the body does the work of the Lord.

Interested in learning more about what the prayer team does? Join us in the prayer room (at the top of the stairs near the nursery) during a church service. This is the place to “get your feet wet” with prayer ministry–-you will not be asked to pray with anyone during worship in a personal ministry context. Don’t be concerned about saying something you shouldn’t. It’s a safe environment to experiment with your gifting and strengths and learn more about what God has for you. This is an opportunity to get a glimpse of what the prayer team is like, to meet some of our members, and decide if the prayer team is a good fit for you and if you are indeed called to the team.

Sense that God is prompting you to move deeper in prayer ministry?
  • Pray during the service 4-6 times in the prayer room.
  • Fill out the prayer team application (to the right).
  • Meet with the intercession team leader to discuss expectations and address any questions.

Colossians 1:9-13

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in the order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God and being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
