Mission Impossible

Picture
Jesus' birth, among other things, was the beginning of a mission--a mission to save all humankind. This mission He entrusted to every person who were designed to live in such a way as to have Christ's mission at the center of it.

2. Boot Camp

DECEMBER 5--Do you have room to add one more thing to your life? Most people don't. As we prepare for Christ's return, we have been talking about getting involved in the mission Jesus gave us. If we followers of Jesus approach His mission as adding something to our lives, it will drive us crazy. We need to go through a boot-camp experience. No one just adds the
Marines to their existing lifestyle. We shouldn't just try to add our relationship with God and Christ's mission to our already busy lives either. Following Jesus deserves and requires more than that--He demands a complete reorientation of our lives.

1. The Mission

What is your life about? Your career? Your personal goals? A quality of life you want to have? Your friends or family?  If you are a follower of Jesus, your life isn't really about you at all. It is about the mission that Jesus has given to everyone who is a Christ-follower. Christ began this mission with His life, death and, resurrection. Phase two started with the first disciples. It is the mission to impact the kingdom of God with our lives--our time, energy, resources, and abilities. The mission is still going on today. The story is still being written. The cameras are still rolling. What are you going to do?
