Live in love
5. LOVING THOSE IN THE CHURCH, PART II
July 27 -- Matt 18:21-35 -- Loving those within the church is not always easy. Christians can, and sadly do, sin against one another. That in mind, Peter asked Jesus a question that many have wondered about themselves: “So how many times should I forgive another Christian when they sin against me?” Jesus’ answer and implications that follow will challenge all who claim to follow Jesus and love those within the church.
4. loving those in the church, part i
July 20 -- Matt 18:15-20 -- We might be tempted to believe or somehow assume that those outside the church are harder to love than those inside. We might be led to think that those in the church always get along and do not sin against one another. Not true, which drives us to the question: "What must I do if a Christian sins against me?" Jesus' answer and implications are clear and yet difficult to apply.
3. Loving those who are questioning faith
July 6 -- Acts 17:16-33 -- We all have people in our lives that have or will ask questions about faith. As followers of Jesus, we are called to live in love towards these people as we seek to lead them towards Jesus. Love should motivate us to share the life-giving news of the Gospel with them! How can we engage with them and help them find answers to their questions in a loving and respectful way - balancing the need to show grace and to speak truth?
2. Loving those who are hurting
June 29 -- We live in a world filled with hurting people, be it from the loss of a job, family or personal health issues, marital stress, finances, and so much more. How do we help people like this? What do we do? What don't we do? To Live in Love we must be equipped and ready with answers to these questions.
1. Show mercy to Whom?
June 22 -- Luke 10:25-37-- An expert in the law once asked Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?" Jesus answers by describing instead what it means to be a neighbor. To live in love we must know what that means and looks like.
