I grew up in the city of Bemidji with three brothers and amazing parents. I hated high school and barely went after my sophomore year; then for some unknown reason I decided to go to college. At college I became an involved student who actually appeared to care which was new for me after my high school experience. It was during my freshman year that I started attending Anchor Point. I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in December of 2012.
Why I’m working with facilities: I love working with my hands to build things and fix things. Since I was young I have loved working with tools, especially power tools, and you could find me working on something versus playing video games as a kid. Before I went to UMD, I spent 2 years going to Northwest Technical College to become an |
electrician. I also spent 3 spring/summers working construction and building houses with a company in Bemidji.
Why I’m working with missions: When I was in high school I went on two missions trips with an organization called Group Workcamps. We fixed up houses for less fortunate people and I loved every minute of it. Since then I have volunteered with and been employed by Group; I’ve now done ten of these missions trips with high school students all around the country. I wouldn’t trade these trips for anything; the experiences I’ve had and the things I’ve learned have changed my life. I feel called to do something with missions in my life and this is a great opportunity to get started. |
