Go with Me

Picture
Discipling people was the strategy Jesus laid out for reaching the world and building His kingdom. It is a follower of Christ helps a person newer in the faith learn to live as a follower of Christ. Today we often refer to that concept as mentoring. Whatever name you give it, it is still the primary means of expanding the kingdom of God today. This series will target the biblical foundations of why every follower of Jesus was designed to be mentored and to mentor someone.

2.  Part Two

JULY 17--There is a natural progression in the human maturity process. Each person moves from infancy to adolescence, on to being a teenager and an adult. The final stage of the process of human maturity is reproducing ourselves-- having children and grandchildren. The same thing is true when it comes being a follower of Jesus. The natural process involves having spiritual children and grandchildren. You may not know this but, if you are a follower of Jesus, you are a valuable kingdom resource. God wants to use all the things He's taught you, brought you through, your successes and even your failures to help the next generation of Christ followers climb higher in their spiritual maturity and kingdom impact. Jesus mentored twelve men. Paul was also a mentor as were other fathers of the faith. Mentoring is God's plan to change the world. This message will help you find out how you can also become a mentor.

1.  Part One

JULY 10--Our culture values the self-made person--the experts call it rugged individualism. We want to do things on our own. We carry this attitude into living as a follower of Jesus. The sad irony is that Jesus never meant for it to be that way. Sure, a person can grow on their own. However, we can reach greater levels of maturity and kingdom impact if we have someone come alongside us in the process. If your desire is to climb as high as you can in life, find a mentor to help you get there.
