About the Artist
Randy and his family attend the Anchor Point Lakeside Campus. He has served in many areas
along with being an active part of the artist group serving in Art in Me.
Here's what Randy had to say
about his inspiration for the drawing:
"I was honored when asked to be one of the artists working on a piece during the recent Anchor Point service/fundraiser/educational event for Safe Haven, the women and children shelter here in Duluth.
I wanted to do a wildlife drawing that
somehow tied into the theme of a "safe haven".
When I found a photo of a mother raccoon and her three babies peering out from their safe haven, the hollow trunk of a huge old Sugar Maple tree, I knew I'd found the right subject.
There was no doubt the drawing needed
to be titled "Safe Haven".
I got about half done with the drawing during the event and an AP attender was kind enough to buy it that day as a donation for Safe Haven. I finished it for her the following day and a photo of the finished drawing is shown here. Hope you like it."
