WI, Cedarville, MI (the Upper Peninsula), Grand Rapids, MI,and now Duluth. He’s pastored
at three Lutheran churches, a 7,000-attendee Full-Gospel church, a 35-attendee non-
denominational church, and now at Anchor Point. Peter and Julie have learned a lot, had
many unexpected experiences, and loved a lot of people.
Instead of becoming a high-school English teacher after St. Cloud State University gave her
a degree, Julie took a writing internship with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Since then,
the world of print media has slowly unfolded before her: writing grant proposals, articles,
even a children’s book; editing manuals and books; designing brochures and websites; etc.
While she enjoys writing tasks that come with the job, she prefers to wrestle with words
when the subject comes from her heart.
In 2009, Julie and Peter adopted Kara, and now it seems every photo of Julie includes this
little charmer. Perhaps it's because the only time Julie and Kara aren't together is when
Julie's at work here--getting something done that doesn't involve poop or rice cereal.

Julie shares Seven-of-Nine’s obsession with efficiency, reads
every word on museum plaques, and nibbles Snickers one
section at a time: chocolate shell, nougat, and caramel-
peanuts. (It lasts longer that way.) In the early morning, after
jogging to counteract a chocolate diet, Julie spends time with
God—with a 75-lb. golden retriever dozing on her lap.
(Originally, it was a cat, but then Daisy died and, well, what are
you going to do?) When she has time alone, she reads.
Julie asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior when she was
three, sitting at the kitchen table with her mom and brother.
Their relationship has only grown since.
Originally, Julie was going to have a quiet little life. Then she
married Peter. They’ve lived in Minneapolis, MN, Dodgeville,
